Spot rinse their face get under the throat area and forehead part. Make sure you dry them well but very gently, leave them to dry in the towel and make sure the trip from the bathroom to the cage is not cold… the room with their cage should be warm to slightly cool place them in the cage and let them eat and drink some food and water getting a bath is tough on a ferret.

I have been reading up on ferrets and from what I know is you should bath them at least once to two times a month, to often is not excellent for the build up their gland musk and it causes dry skin that often flakes. To bath a ferret run your bathtub water on the warmer side foam the ferret with water, do not wet their head keep this part of them dry. Rub in your ferret shampoo or baby tear free shampoo on them from the neck down then rinse. clean their ears gently no water should go inside them.

once a month mine still stink after a bath.

  6. bakkushan says:

They do that for all their topics, not just animal care. I can imagine the director after the first take of the video: “Cut! Okay, that was excellent, but it was too informative. Can you cut back of the usefulness a modest bit? We need more room for intro graphics and to plug your hospital.”

when Male ferrets get ancient the tend to smell like pee like my one . we had a female but she died because we didnt mate her

I reckon we can all agree that we’ll NEVER agree on how often to bathe a ferret.

There are so many variables: Is the ferret kept indoors as a pet? Outdoors as a working animal? Male/Female, Spayed/Neutered ect…

I personally find that once a month works fine for me and my ferret. I also change out the bedding regularly as I find it holds most of the odour.

I will no doupt be told by someone that I am WRONG WRONG WRONG. But as long as my ferret is pleased, I’ll carry on as is.

I HATE How Expertvillage makes videos about animal care, yet they never SHOW you how to do it “You should bathe them”—Ok, HOW?

  10. MuseUnmade says:

I bathe mine once or twice a year. The key is to make sure their litter is changed regularly (numerous times a week for me with 2) and to wash their bedding every other week.

  11. poboy1223 says:

  16. 3g00fy4 says:

  17. 3g00fy4 says:

    o ok thnx

  18. roxxi81893 says:

you go to an Exotic Pet Veterinarian.
if you cant locate one, go to a regular/normal vet and they can grant you genteel information on what youre looking for.

  19. garugaguy says:

You can take a ferret to a vet I am pretty sure… There is no speacial “ferret Doctor” Lol

  20. pbiluvthejobros says:

where did u get ur ferret??

  21. 3g00fy4 says:

wait so we need a vetenarian for a ferret? or r we supposto take ferrets to the vetenarian? plz answer

  22. ShockResistor says:

You are so observant! I had to play the video again to see that! Lmao!

  23. lrodrigu79 says:

I only bathe my ferrets when they need it. Like when they get into a mess of some sort. Clipping their nails and cleaning their ears regularly is what helps keep the ferret odor down.

  24. fireatwill1234 says:

it depend on what your ferret dose, if your ferret is in a cage most of the time u probubly dont need to clean it that much but if it is litter box trained and runs around ur house like a cat and u take it for walks, ur gunna need to wash it a modest more no more than once a week if ur ferret is an *explorer*

  25. SeleneRayne says:

Ferrets only need to be bathes 2-3 times a year. I despise people who reckon the more you bathe the better. Fools!
